ZenPacks : WMI Exchange 2003 : Comments

Hi,

I've installed WMI Data Source and WMI Exchange 2003 1.1 zenpacks on my Zenoss 2.5.2 installation.

Exchange User Statistics, Address Lists Queue, Email Delivery Time, Email Delivery Rate graphs won't work at all while the other graphs are broken (showing "Missing RRD file').

Any hint?

I believe there is an error in the RPC Averaged Latency Query. Should be:

SELECT RPCAveragedLatency from Win32_PerfRawData_MSExchangeIS_MSExchangeIS

It was

SELECT RPCAveragedLatency from Win32_PerfRawData_MSExchangeIS_M

This fixed my issue.

Did you resolve this?? I have the same thing (lots of missing RRD files). I do get the user count data so the fundamental WMI communication is OK.

Hello,

do you have any error on the incidents tab? Look for "Could not get WMI Instance" errors. I had the same problem, it was comming from my Windows servers.

Yup - I've got the "Could not get WMI Instance" messages. How did you solve it?? I'm guessing it is fundamentally a Windows problem rather than a Zenoss one.

I've had theses errors on several servers. For some, a simple restart of tha WMI Management service solved it.

On the others I had to run wmiadap /f and reboot them...but I still have 1 server on which I have "Could not get WMI Instance (Received NT code 0x80041010 from query: SELECT AddressListsQueueLength FROM Win32_PerfRawData_MSExchangeAL_MSExchangeAL WHERE name='_Total')" no matter what I do .

All other queries have results except this one.

I'm thinking to go with SNMP informant for all our Windows server to get rid of WMI because we have more and more 64bits servers and there's so few WMI 64bits counters ... but the price would be high !

If I find a solution for my "Could not get WMI Instance" error, I'll post the solution here.

Just read the notes at the top again that says this ONLY works on Exchange 2003 - I have 2007 - could explain things!

I note that there is a WMI Exchange 2007 ZenPack now for Zenoss 3. I am at Zenoss 2.5.2 - anyone tried it? Not sure the 2007 pack provides as much stuff as this one either....

Hi All, Does anyone know if this zenpack works for 3.1.0? I have tried to install it and I get an error saying that it could not find the index page or the link to the site is block by --allow-hosts. I am a newbie so anyone have any clue to whtat is happening? Thanks Steph

Make sure that you downloaded ZenPacks.community.WMIPerf_Exchange2003-2.0.2-py2.6.egg.zip and make sure that you unzip it before trying to install it.

Right, which is also why I asked if you had unzipped the file so that it's just a .egg prior to installing it. It can not be a zip file.

Yeh, that's definitely his problem. Stephan, certain ZenPacks have dependencies on other ZenPacks.
