I've configured AIX's snmp awhile ago to get it to work with Cacti. I had some input on the discussion with Rony in the cacti forums. But what I'm wondering is if anyone is seeing the ssCpuRaw " Couldn't find any CPUs!" messages. I took a look briefly at the python script AIX_ssCpuRawStats. I see that it is set to use the following oid:

base_cpu_table_oid= "1.3.6.1.4.1.2.3.1.2.2.2.1.1.1"

I manually run the following command and it doesn't return anything:

sudo snmpinfo -m dump -v -c public -h localhost 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.3.1.2.2.2.1.1.1

I'm not sure if that is the correct command. Any suggestions?

When an AIX device has more than 8 processors with 2 cores/processor, in Hardware tab of zenoss, only 5 processors are shown. I've run the following command to check if it's a snmp problem :

snmpwalk -v1 -c public 192.168.***.*** .1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.191.1.1(AixProcessorName OID)

But the return is still 5 rows : proc00 proc02 proc04 proc06 proc08

I think the problem is from the snmp configuration on the AIX host.

Does anyone have an idea to fix that?

Hello, I used the AIX plugin to monitoring many AIX 5.3, 6.1, exist planing to change this plugin to work with the new version of Zenoss Core?

The python2.6 version of this zenpack from the dev site (http://dev.zenoss.org/zenpacks/) installs into ZenOSS 3.0 fine.

There does seem to be a problem with modeling disks, volumes, and filesystems. I've documented my findings and provided a patch to get it working again here: http://zenpacks.zenoss.org/trac-zenpacks/ticket/12

I just merged a new change, though I do not think that it is the one mentioned above.

jeblair, can you confirm? Do you still have the change, and can you send a pull request on github so that we can apply it there?

Please note that the 1.1 version (py2.4 version) has the ssCpuRawUser and ssCpuRawIdle snmp tables interchanged. AIX_ssCpuRawStats.py needs modification.

I'm trying to get this to work with AIX 7.1. The cacti setup of SNMP in AIX 7.1 doesn't really apply any more, any updated information?

Did anyone ever figure out the patch for the volumegroup plugin issue? The link that jeblair pasted has been dead for a while from the looks of it (always paste changes right in to the comments as well when it comes to Zenoss Inc. They like to change stuff often.)

I have fixed some bugs and updated the pack to work in v4. I just found another bug not too long ago and fixed it. I need to find some time to re-package the pack with the fix and then I'll upload it here. So far it's been working great for me with the fixes.

you said it is compatible with 3.x ... but requires pointThreshold

however pointThreshold is only compatible with v2

how can i install this zenpack on 3.x then ??

atesin, you'll want to wait until I release the updated/fixed version of this pack. I'm also going to update the point threshold to work in 3/4 (I haven't done this yet, I've simply installed it as is for the time being). It just needs to have javascript added to it so that it can be configured in the new UI, other than that it works fine for existing templates.

Also, I called them Collector Plugins since that's what they used to be called, but they are called Modeler Plugins now. You'll see a link to them in the details of any event class and on the left hand side when viewing any device.

AIXVolumeGroupMap should not be throwing errors unless you don't have SNMP configured properly on the device. It needs to be configured to allow all of the necessary OIDs to be exposed. By default this won't be the case. There is SNMP configuration info in the details for the AIX device class that's created by the pack.
