This is my first attempt at a ZenPack, I welcome your suggestions and criticism.

Installed zenpack and bound to the zenoss server and several monitored servers. Left it for the weekend so it could build up a graph. No data looks to be collected after the weekend. Cur/avg/max feilds just show "nan".

Currently the majority of events come in via a single server from traps and a transform is used to distribute the events to all servers. Could this have something to do with it?

The data is collected directly from the zenoss database via a shell script, I don't think transforms would have anything to do with that as they are applied before the entries are saved to the database. (I think?)

My first guess would be that something in the script is not compatible with your install. Can you try navigating to "/Devices /Server /Linux /localhost /Templates /AllEventsBySev /Severity_EventSev0 " and use the "test against device" option to try executing the script against "localhost"?

My output looks like this:

Thanks for this ZenPack, nelliot.

Minor bug found: The command call fails if the device name has spaces in it. Updating the datasource command template, adding double-quotes before and after $devname, fixed this for me.

(I'm using version 2.. could be updated already in 4?)

I have installed Event Histograms ZenPack to my Zenoss 3.0.3 and it works fine.

steps I took:

1. downloaded ZenPacks.community.EventGraph.BySeverity-4.0-py2.4.egg.zip

2. unzipped it,renamed it = removed "-py2.4" from the file name

3. installed the ZenPack egg from GUI, no errors

4. even though it wasn't stated as necessary, restarted Zope from GUI

5. assigned "All Events" templete to my Zenoss linux server

6. assigned "Device Events" templete to one of my servers having events

7. after some time graphs are showing results

Had a few slight GUI problems (freezing, etc) while viewing or editing the template (double clicking the data source to test it against the device), but this could be due to me having a general connectivity problem to my zenoss server today, maybe it has noting to do with the zenpack itself.
