ZenPacks : MS SQL Server 64-bit SNMP : Comments

We have 64-bit SQL, zenoss 3.0.1...any reports of folks using that successfully? Do you think it should work on 3.0.1? I'm up for testing it.

64-bit SQL perfs can only be monitored by using SNMP-Informant (this zenpack) or by using something to get the local perf counters (http://community.zenoss.org/docs/DOC-4641#comment-2397).

Anyway, you will need to install a software on the SQL server to make it work .

Thanks, I gotcha there. My question is does this zenpack support 3.0, looks like it doesn't yet, do you have an ETA for 3.0 support?

It's not compatible yet.

You'll have to either check with the author, wait for someone to convert, or try converting it yourself .

There is a Zenoss 3.0 version at http://dev.zenoss.org/zenpacks/ available for testing. Feel free to try it out and let me if it works and we can move this ZenPack from 'needs testing' to compatible.

I was running this ZenPack on Zenoss 2.5.4, upgraded to 3.0.2 and this ZenPack still worked after the upgrade.

I'm new to Zenoss, but I've used other monitoring tools like Watchtower and Nagios. I'm having an issue with getting data. I'm curious what else do you need to do besides having SNMP Informant on the SQL Server and binding the WMIPerfSQL2005 template to the machine in Zenoss to get this thing to record some SQL data? Any other parameter I'm missing in Zenoss to fill out?

Yes, it works. You just need to rename the egg to ZenPacks.community.MSSQL64Monitor-1.0-py2.7.egg

Any other package needs to be install for Zenoss 4.2 to get full result ? like any ODBC drivers etc besides above Zenpack?

The only dependency for this ZenPack is SNMP Informant SQL. It's not a free application and costs $60.
