I have been using this with Zenoss 3.1 and it works. This Search box is such a timesaver!

The only problem I'm having now, is that devices that are in a custom device class, WMI, which was created by the WMI zenpack doesn't appear to be searchable. The search doesn't bring anything up when I put in the device name, but it DOES bring it up if I used the IP address to search. I tried to restart the zenoss-stack to see if there was something that was hung up, but this did not fix it.

It is supported on zenoss 3.1, yes.

Marvin, try adding a device by its DNS name, to the WMI device class. For example, add a new device and assign it to this class, and add it as mywmidevice.sorenson.net NOT 10.173.12.14

I think you could even do this with a fake device that doesnt exist. Try searching for it after you add this. If it still doesnt work, restart zenoss daemons again and try once again.

Hi,

I would like to add... the keyword in the box is search across all keys from devices, which are:

['dependencies', 'dependents', 'deviceClass', 'perfServer', 'location', 'systems', 'groups', 'maintenanceWindows', 'adminRoles', 'userCommands', 'monitors', 'os', 'hw']

Meaning: if you have w2k8 and 2k3 and you want to search a 2k3, writing 003 on the search box will retrieve (between others) all devices with 2003 in the os product name (that's still more useful!!)

... dev question: is it possible to add the "comments" field of a device to the device.keys(), is a zope definition or a ZenModel definition?
