ZenPacks : Dell PowerEdge 2950 : Comments

This Zenpack doesn't seem to work. It doesn't contain a .egg file. Its just a zip file. I renamed the zip file to .egg and i got a bunch of errors while installing.

Can you include insllation instructions?

This is actually an older .zip-style ZenPack, so you don't have to unzip it before installing, because there is no .egg. That said, this type of ZenPack is deprecated and hopefully if it's still useful someone will convert it to an .egg. This article documents the process:Migrating ZIP ZenPacks to EGGs

Ahh. Thanks for the info. Specifically i'm interested in monitoring the disk arrays in my Dell PowerEdge 2950s adn 1950s. I've got a few 2850s and 1850s as well. We are mostly a dell shop. Any advice would be appriciated.

Hi everyone,

I already tried to convert this zenpack to v3 with no luck.

Is there any other way to do it? It would be great to use it in Zenoss v 3.

Thank's for your prompt reply.

In fact that is the zenpack that I am using at this time (Egor Puzanov Dell Monitor).

The problem is that (i think) it lacks some documentation on how to correctly use it.

I was able to install it and in some way use it. But one problem that I have with it is that I cannot get the temperature of any of my servers (mostly 1950, 2950). In Hardware->Temperature, the status is allways purple and no data is being retrieved...

With this zenpack I was able to clearely monitor all the temperature sensors though.
