Anyone know how to fix this?

That error is because the file (HPProcurveMap.py.zip) is not a proper ZenPack file. They seem to have messed up when uploading this ZenPack. They've also somehow managed to zip up every .egg ZenPack on the site. Matt Ray is looking in to this.

Thanks! That works now.

But do you know if this can work for HP Procurve 2512? I still don't see the CPU and Memory graphs under "Perf" tab.

Have you bound the templates on the proper device class and placed your devices under that class? I haven't used this ZenPack, but that's a common reason for not seeing graphs.

I created manually the followings:

/Devices/Network/Switch/HP
/Events/Net/traps

and re-model my devices. Still nothing...

I can see under the device class and event class that I created, this zenpack populated some templates.

They are organizers that you have to create. Click Devices and Events in the left hand menu, then create organizers until the required paths are available.

Same problem as valen_willie

I don't see the CPU and Memory graphs under the "Perf" tab.

(I don't know if it's needed but I have installed the ZenPack "Advanced Device Details")

I am able to install the ZenPack and Bind the template to the /network/switch/HP Group, however.. do i need to add anything to the Collector Plugins to enable the monitoring of the fans and CPU's?

Not for CPU, and I don't even recall this pack having a graph for fans. If it does, I highly doubt you need any collector plugins for those either, since it'll just be using the standard SNMP OIDs for them.

Oh nevermind, I see the fan and power supply OIDs. It doesn't actually graph them, just thresholds if they fail. You don't need a collector plugin for those either.

Hi in 2.5 zenoss showed whether a port was up or down and didn't generate an event for that which was nice since I just wanted to see whether a port was connected or disconnected. This doesn't work in zenoss 3.0.

Zenoss doesn't check port status out of the box except when you actually model the device. To get it to monitor/alert on port status you need to do this: http://community.zenoss.org/docs/DOC-2494. The status icon changing on the interfaces page is directly related to an event being present in the event console in event class /Status/IpInterface. The way this works hasn't changed. You probably just thought that Zenoss was actively showing the status when in fact it was not. You could set up your Zenoss instance via the guide that I linked to. After doing that, you could set up your alerting rules not to send email alerts when those events come in. That's about the best that you're going to get.

I did read that document but back in zenoss 2.5 it showed the whether the port was active or non active and once upgrading to zenoss 3.0 that disappeared I am trying to keep useless events generated by zenoss to a minimum so that document isn't really an option for me. This zenpack did this in zenoss 2.5 only for the hp procurve switches by the way.

Got the following error when trying to install on 3.0;

: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'clone'

Installation failed. Is this Zenpack compatible with 3.0?

Hello, I successfully install the package, though I have some traps that are not recognized/parse by zenoss. The mesage contains port online/offline (in addition to link up/down that shows correctly) and telnet access. I tried to import all possible mibs and look for the oid with little success. Thanks for any help.

Installed the Python 2.6 version, but it doesn't seem to install correctly on Zenoss 3.1.0. Doesn't show up under installed zenpacks, and I don't see any of the associated monitors.

Make sure you unzip it so that it's just a .egg and make sure you remove the "-py2.4" from the filename.

Nope, still nothing. I shortened the file name down to ZenPacks.networking.HPProcurve-1.1.egg (I downloaded the 2.6 version from http://dev.zenoss.org/zenpacks/) Is there a manual install I can do? I've been doing the one from the interface.

I'd recommend not using the interface to install ZenPacks, it's much better to do it from the commandline. SSH to your Zenoss server, become the zenoss user (sudo su - zenoss) and then do zenpack --install <file>. You can upload the file to your server via FTP or just use wget to pull it down directly from the URL.
