I get the same thing. Edit the template and remove (here.speed or 1e9) and change it to 1e9 for gigabit, or simple remove the Threshold

I am unable to see any of the interface statistics via this ZenPack. Everything else seems to be working just fine. Thoughts?

It is precise timing that you made this comment now. We have been looking into this at Zenoss Inc, just today actually. We observed that the ethernetCsMacd template does not exist in ssh-form on the /Server/SSH/Linux device class. This means that at this time, Interface stats are not available via ssh-based methods. You can still implement your own or use SNMP.

That's odd - as I DO have a template there...and it has /sbin/ifconfig -a as the Data Source (over SSH), and it has several Data Points under it, all of type Derive: ifInErrors, ifInOctets, ifInUCastPackets, ifOutErrors, ifOutOctets, and ifOutUCastPackets.

When I test it against a device, it DOES return values, but I do not know how it is supposed to derive those data points from the returned data.

Very intersting. Can you let me know what version of Zenoss you are on? Did you ever have enterprise installed...as in, were you a customer of ours in the past or now?

We tested this on zenoss core 3.1.0 and 3.0.3 and saw no interface templates under /Server/SSH/Linux

We are on 3.1 Core, upgraded from 3.0, originally. We have never had Enterprise... I found the template under the ethernetCsMacd, and bound it with to /Server/Linux/SSH (just toggled it, as it was already bound there). It shows up, I can test against a VM and have it return values, but I don't get any graphs.

I just started working with this template to monitor network traffic on an ESXi box, as the Esxi zenpack does not show network traffic. I'm having the exact same problem as braynyac. I can test the commands and I get results back, but all the graphs are empty with nan. Is there some other field we need to fill in, or some other setting that is wrong.

This is an FYI in the event someone else hits the following issue with the latest versioned zenpack.

I just added this in Zenoss 4.2.0, and the Python 2.7 egg contained several .gitignore files in the zenpack bin and daemon directories which caused some issues, like seeing a Zenoss background daemon named .gitignore.

The Zenpack Remove also left a broken symlink from the Linux Monitor AddOn zenpack in baseline $ZENHOME/bin, which caused zenbackup to fail from command line during backup of the bin directory, complaining the file wasn't there.

I removed the bogus .gitignore files and symlinks and was back in business.

I pushed 1.0.1 that will fix this issue.

the workaround is to remove the daemons directory. the removal scripts think the .gitignore file that was placed in there is a daemon to stop.
