Agreed. cool portlet.

What would make it even more useful for me, is a way to filter based on severity.

In fact, the "event views" in preferences have a really nice and extensive filtering system: great work on your event views portlet btw but the problem with that approach is that you see totals of the entire filter (ie many devices that match the conditions).

The "filtered device issues" shows each device separately, but lacks the advanced filtering.

I wish I could have both combined

Any chance there will be a 3.0.2 compatible version of this Zenpack? Finding the default "Device Issues" zenpack to be lacking.

I believe the ZenPack uses simplejson, which was replaced by json in Python 2.6. Fixing it should be pretty straight-forward.

I managed to make the update and get the zenpack to install (details

below) but I get the new portlet in the "add portlet window".

Details:

Original ZenPack partially installed but now "zenpack" command backtraces

Noted that the zenpack source was installed under /opt/zenoss/ZenPacks so

I found the offending "import simplejson" and changed to "import json"

(curious that I found no other references to "simplejson" so I wonder if

that module is actually used at all in this zenpack)

Now "zenpack --list" runs but ZenPacks.fdeckert.myDeviceIssues not listed

I performed the following steps (per instructions found somewhere in

Zenoss docs):

cp -r /opt/zenoss/ZenPacks/ZenPacks.fdeckert.myDeviceIssues-1.0-py2.6.egg

/home/zenoss/zenpacks/

cd /home/zenoss/zenpacks/

zenpack --link --install ZenPacks.fdeckert.myDeviceIssues-1.0-py2.6.egg

failed here due to no setup.py

I copied an existing setup.py from another source zenpack and modified

"zenpack --link --install ZenPacks.fdeckert.myDeviceIssues-1.0-py2.6.egg"

now runs successfully

Filtered Device Issues Portlet$ zenpack --list | grep myDevic

ZenPacks.fdeckert.myDeviceIssues

(/home/zenoss/zenpacks/ZenPacks.fdeckert.myDeviceIssues-1.0-py2.6.egg)

Looking good so far

restart zope

try to add the portlet but it doesn't show in the little "add portlet"

window

Not sure what I'm doing wrong here.

Tried to run on Zenoss 4.2.3 , Installation worked well after renaming it 2.7py but no data or information in the portlet . Its pure blank
