ZenPacks : Hyper-V Server R2 : Comments

I have been waiting for someone to do this with eager anticipation. I'm sorry to say though in my case it hasn't worked too well. I'm running Zenoss Core version 2.5.2 on a CentOS 5 system. I upgraded the WMIDataSource ZenPack to version 2.5, restarted the stack then installed this ZenPack.

When I model a Hyper-V server I get the following error message:

Unable to fill collection slots: [Failure instance: Traceback (failure with no frames): Products.ZenHub.PBDaemon.RemoteException: Remote exception: exceptions.AttributeError: 'HyperVMDevice' object has no attribute 'primaryAq'Traceback (most recent call last): File "/opt/zenoss/Products/ZenHub/PBDaemon.py", line 75, in inner return callable(*args, **kw) File "/opt/zenoss/Products/ZenHub/services/ModelerService.py", line 79, in remote_getDeviceConfig device = device.primaryAq() AttributeError: 'HyperVMDevice' object has no attribute 'primaryAq' ]

Any thoughts?

(Once this is working, all I need is a similar ZenPack for Citrix Xenserver then I'll have the full set to support my estate!)

After we upgraded Zenoss to version 3.0, we noticed that Hyper-V servers had old look and feel

when device was searched through 'Device Search'. When we started troubleshooting this

issue, we noticed that the page was redirecting to the old zenoss view of "Status" page.

We fixed the URL part in "HyperVMDevice.py" file in

ZENHOME/ZenPacks/ZenPacks.Hyper.virtualMachines-0.2-py2.6.egg/ZenPacks/Hyper/virtualMachines:

Had the same issue as mlc56. Made the changes suggested by chitra and that seemed to clear up the issue. What is weird is that I get part of the old look and feel in the Device Search, but I also get a new node under Components of HypervVM. I can live with that, but I want to know if the the perf Display under each HypervVM component actually works for anyone. If so, ho did you make it work.

I've installed this Zenpack on Zenoss Core 3.2.0 and everything seems to be working correctly but the HypervVM component, which shows the VM's state as down when they're not. Is there a solution for this?

ZenPacks.Hyper.virtualMachines-0.2-py2.6.egg can only be installed on Core 4.2, if you rename it to ZenPacks.Hyper.virtualMachines-0.2-py2.7.egg.

Once the Zenpack is installed and after restarting zenoss, the HypervVM section does not appear under the Components menu :-

Are there any plans to migrate this Zenpack to Zenoss Core 4.2 and resolve these issues ?
