I just installed Zenoss for the first time to try out this ZenPack, and I'm getting the error below. I did add the MIBs->Subfolder->Add New Organizer for "Storage" per a Netapp ZenPack discussion that looks similar to my issue, but the issue persists.

Looks like it needs the /Devices/Storage suborganizer added as a dependency.

Has anyone looked into updating this zenpack to run in v3.x?

I've just looked into it. It looks like a nice ZenPack that only needs some UI work to make it compatible with Zenoss 3+.

I could do the UI work, but I don't have any BlueArc equipment to test against. The ZenPack seems to only be using SNMP to communicate with the devices so I could simulate it if someone could send me some specific snmpwalk output for their BlueArc cluster.

I'd need the BlueArc.snmpwalk file generated by the following command. Be sure to replace <community> and <ip_address> with the proper values.

snmpwalk -v2c -c <community> -m none -O enU <ip_address> .1 > BlueArc.snmpwalk

Sorry to veer of topic a bit, but Chet, could you point me at documentation on how you can use the SNMPWALK output for testing? I have wanted to do this on numerous occasions when I didnt have access to a device, this would be really great info.

@dpetzel - snmpwalk is part of net-snmp. In a Linux shell, type "snmpwalk -h" for all available commands.

@Chet - Thanks for the offer! Most appreciated! I have run the command and have a file to send you and I also have available the latest BlueArc MIB's. As BlueArc no longer exists as they are owned by Hitachi, everything has been re-branded. However, underneath, its all still the same, I think. I'm unable to share our snmpwalk dump file publicy, so if you have an address you can PM me that would be great.

Sorry if my original question is unclear, I'm familiar with snmpwalk, what Im looking for is how you can use that output in the form of a text file, as input during zenpack development. Being able pull data from a series of text files for debugging is way more convienant than being in a position to access the device.

Obviously at some point you would want access, but for the early stages of development this could be a big time saver, not to mention allow for better automatted unit testing of zenpacks.

Thanks for the test data, Mike. I just pushed an update to the ZenPack that makes it compatible with Zenoss 3 and the Zenoss 4 beta.

You can grab the latest version (1.0.1 at this time) from the follow link if you're running Zenoss 3.2.1. You can replace 3.2.1 in the URL with whatever version of Zenoss you're running to get the appropriate package.
