The Zenoss OS poll now has 55 responses (after a month!). Only 21 votes (38%) are for RedHat / CentOS. As far as I know at the moment, Zenoss themselves only plan to release Core 4 for RedHat / CentOS.

for layer two I'd recommend you guys take a look at Wiremaps (https://github.com/vincentbernat/wiremaps). There are a lot of commonalities between the projects (Python, Twisted), and I am sure this could be leveraged somehow.

Great ideas and great news. I actually like how linuxquestions.org does their forums, where they email out a listing of unreplyed-to questions once a week (or month?). This lets others focus on quiestions that are going unanswered, and also actively pulls people who do not look often, back in. I will look into what kind of options we have with this hosted Jive instance.
