Description:

This ZenPack collects SNMP statistics on TCP from the standards-based TCP-MIB. This MIB should be well-supported on nearly any SNMP-capable device. This ZenPack provides a TCP-MIB device class under /Devices that you may bind to pull TCP performance data. This ZenPack can be used to provide alerting for systems that are under a large TCP connection load. The author's idea is to use this to determine when a system is under attack, compromised, or misconfigured and doing something stupid.

No thresholds are included, since it's likely that thresholds for the author's systems do not make sense for others. But once you have this data, you can create thresholds when, for example, your web servers exceed 50000 simultaneous TCP sessions - indicating that service impact is very likely. Graphs are included for TCP Connections, TCP Segments and TCP Errors.

For more on this ZenPack, please refer to the author's post: ZenPacks for TCP and UDP statistics.
