I have groups of servers on a NAT network, and I have a remote collector in that network. My main collector is outside the NAT network. I followed the instructions here:
http://www.zenoss.com/community/docs/howtos/setting-up-multiple-zenperfsnmp-collectors-across-different-hosts
The Zenoss processes on the remote collector start up properly, but I can't get the main Zenoss collector to use the remote collector. Here's the process I'm using:
1) Add a new device
2) On the Device List page, click the checkbox next to the device
3) At the upper left, press the arrow and choose "Set Perf Monitor..."
4) Switch it to my remote collector
If I run tcpdump on the monitored device and then push "Model device", the traffic is all from the main collector. If I wait a short while, I see the remote collector pull InOutOctets via SNMP, but the main collector still comes by to ping it and pull the uptime via SNMP.
Does this make sense to anyone? I'm still a little new to Zenoss.
