How to use zenoss email settings when I send email from "event command"

I activated "event command", which generates a report and email me when certain threshold is reached.
For now I'm using linux's mail command, but I'd like to send these email reports using the same settings ("from", SMTP host) as Zenoss does.
How I can do this?
TIA,
Vitaly
Do you really want/need to send an email from an event command? Zenoss has this great alerting mechanism where you can make very detailed alerting rules. See docs/DOC-3111#d4e791

Thanks for your answer!
This is more details about my configuration:
- I added a counter of threads/connections to my mysql server
- when number of connections is abobe my threshold, I want:
1) send alert - of course, I use standart zenoss alerting mechanizm for this
2) all time when number of connecions is high, I want to receive full list of connections via email every 2 minutes. This part I implemented via event command.
thanks,
Vitaly
