Newbie Alert - Dummies Guide to ZenPacks?

Hi guys,

Is there a dummies guide somewhere that will assist me while writing all the modeling scripts within a ZenPack? For example, what "variables" relates to the sections?

I've written a simple version that grabs the serial number from a Solaris host, but have no clear idea how to get it recognised by ZenOSS. I'm using ZenOSS Core 2.4.2.

Unfortunately there is not a "dummies" guide for writing ZenPacks,
just assorted documentation and examples:

Zenoss Developer's Guide http://www.zenoss.com/community/docs/
ZenPack docs: http://www.zenoss.com/community/projects/zenpacks/zenpack-documentation
Community ZenPack Repository (lots of examples, source and docs) trac-zenpacks/

This is something we know isn't as easy as it should be, so we'll
continue to improve it in the future.

Hi Matt

It has been a very long time that people are waiting for Dummy Zenpack guide. Kindly provide soon. There is no particular material compiled specially in this sense, its a huge dark area of zenoss...Only experienced members are doing development and new memebers are leaving it.
