Hello,
This is my version of Zenoss Core installed on a Ubuntu 8.0.4 Server 64 bit
Zenoss | Zenoss 2.4.5 |
---|---|
OS | Linux (x86_64) 2.6.24 (Linux ZenossServer 2.6.24-23-server #1 SMP Thu Nov 27 18:45:02 UTC 2008 x86_64) |
Zope | Zope 2.8.8 |
Python | Python 2.4.4 |
Database | MySQL 5.0.45 (Ver 5.0.45) |
RRD | RRDtool 1.3.6 |
Twisted | Twisted 8.1.0 |
NetSnmp | NetSnmp 5.4.1 |
PyNetSnmp | PyNetSnmp 0.28.13 |
WMI | Wmi 1.2.10 |
I've installed 4 agents, OpenBSD 4.2, FreeBSD 7.1, Ubuntu 8.10, and Fedora Core 11 on a VMWare ESXi 4
All of the experments are done in Local area network only
I managed to configure the snmp on all of the platforms, and start receiving data and status..
My problem is I can't get data for software installed on top of Ubuntu and OpenBSD. I manage to coleect data about the software installed on top of FreeBSD and Fedora..
for the snmpd.conf, i use all the same configuration, means all of the 4 platform uses same configuration for snmpd.conf
so how can i solve for Ubuntu and OpenBSD? thanx in advance

For Ubuntu agent, i'm now able to view the software installed on top of it.. pheww.. using the perl code created by rmk and the tutorial helps me a lot
but for OpenBSD agent, seems to have problem getting the hrSWInstalled when doing snmpwalk .
bash-3.2# snmpwalk -v2c -c public localhost hrSWInstalled
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrSWInstalled = No Such Object available on this agent at this OID
bash-3.2#
p/s: using net-snmp version 5.4
any idea?
