rPath Configure Notification Error

I have just installed the vmware image for zenoss 2.5.  While running the configuration of rPath it asks for an email notification address.  However when I place any valid email address in and save the config.....it errors out with this:

"The following error occurred:

  • Invalid email address: [object];"

I cannot complete or cancel the configuration wizard past this point.  Does anyone have any ideas?

QA will try to reproduce that.

Can you give me a few more details about your setup?

You're probably running in VMware Player under Windows, right?

And you have at least 1.5 GB free memory, right?

    Thanks,

    Re: rPath Configure Notification Error

Ah, thanks for the additional detail.  Much of our QA effort is based upon esx 3.5 with similar conversion on the *.zip or *.tar.gz.

Trying a quick repro of your specific case under esx 3.5 since that is already tee'd up. Wondering if it is an esx 3.5 vs 4.0 disconnect, but if Zenoss 2.4.x converted okay, then it may be something else.

The memory requirements for the Zenoss Core virtual appliance did bump up from 1.0 GB in 2.4 to 1.5 GB in 2.5.0.  But if you started with a fresh install, that should have been a non-issue i think.

Wondering if anyone else is having similar experience with esx 4?

    Regards,

    Glenn

    Re: rPath Configure Notification Error

This doesn't reproduce for us under esx 3.5.

I assume you're browsing to https://<hostname>:8003 and following the prompts.

Perhaps someone in the community can try to repro on esx 4?
