Hi,
I don't know id this is the right place for this. But here it goes.
When doing a testupgrade from native-zenoss-stack 2.4.5 -> 2.5b5 everything went smooth.
But when I try to start everything up the plugin wmi data source daemon borks.
# zenperfwmi start
starting...
CRITICAL:zen.pysamba:Unable to install the WMI reactor. reactor already installed
The .deb that was installed was zenoss-stack_2.5.0-426_i386.deb
Anyone with the same problem out there?

There is reportedly an error with the WMI DataSource and Zenoss 2.5,
some of the daemon infrastructure has changed. I believe the author
is aware of it, we'll try to help him fix it.

Yeah, the ZenPack has still not been updated by the author. For now, if you depend on the WMI Data Source ZenPack, you should not upgrade to 2.5.
Hi,
This is just a friendly question.
Is there any possible to create a long-term API plan so that there is a way to create ZenPacks that doesn't stop working all the sudden.
I don't really know how to implement that thougt, but I think that ZenPack developers would think that it is a good thing.
What do you guys think, is it impossible to do?

Yes, but I didn't know before.
For those who are thinking to downgrade back to zenoss 2.4.5. via deb stack
( dpkg -i zenoss-stack_2.4.5_i386.deb, when version 2.5 is already installed)
-> don't do it, zenoss is not working afterthat. But fortunately, it is possible install 2.5 without any damage.
We did 2 months of beta testing to shake out the issues, this one was
found pretty early but there's just been no response from the author.
Thanks,

Hi,
Ah, I wasn't throwing any blaming around here
I was just curious if there was any thougts around this..
And like you said, there has been a beta period for two months..
Do you know if there is any way of fixing the ZenPack with the help of the community.
Or is it not a community ZenPack?

It's a Community ZenPack, so anyone is free to update it. Egor
stopped by in IRC today and mentioned working on it, so it may be
updated soon.
Thanks,
Matt Ray
