ZenOSS 2.5/2.5.1 DataPoints not visible under DataSources

I have on Ubuntu Server 9.10, an install from the Debian repository of ZenOSS. A few days ago, I was on 2.5 and today I moved to 2.5.1
As this is not my first foray with ZenOSS, it took a short while but here I am again, putting together custom templates. Having said that I've hit a snag. With my current installation (already in production), I cannot add a single data point nor see an existing one on any of the data templates. It's definitely not a browser issue (firefox 3.0.15 & IE8) :
Stranglely, I get the RRD Min and RRD Max in addition to create cmd all at once. This is different from the screenshot shown @docs/DOC-3908 (referenced by the 2.5 guide) in the middle of the page. The one in the document is what I saw in my past installs, ZenOSS 2.1~2.3 (managed to miss 2.4.x entirely).
Please advise what I am missing as everything else works beautifully and I don't want to nuke the build again after just putting it altogether.
I answered this question for you in the Zenoss IRC channel, so might as well award me with a correct answer
For anyone coming across this, Zenoss no longer displays data points for snmp type datasources like it used to in 2.3.x and earlier versions. This is because it automatically creates the datapoint (but hides it).
I almost deleted the thread but forgot to. You got points!
3 polling cycles indeed! That got the "gauge" based data sources working.
Now I just need to figure out why the same datasources with the "derive" type have not plotted any data. Just gotta get this to work and I can throw in a simple ZenPack for KM printers
