Anyone experiencing a 'no entry point' problem during installation of ZenPacks.fdeckert.myeventviews-1.2-py2.4.egg via command 'zenoss$ zenpack --install ZenPacks.fdeckert.myeventviews-1.2-py2.4.egg' on Zenoss 2.5.1? I know the portlet works on 2.5.1, but the system its on now was upgraded from 2.4.5, so this is my first time installing it in v2.5.1. Ideas?

I just realized that it was double compressed. After extracting it a second time to yield the final .egg file, I instead recieve a 'ERROR: zenpack command failed. Reason: ImportError: No module named fdeckert.myeventviews', an improvement, but still not installable.

Hmm... I couldn't recreate this. I went to the Event Views Portlet and downloaded the ZenPacks.fdeckert.myeventviews-1.2-py2.4.egg.zip. I then unzipped it and installed it via the UI. I did a 'zopectl restart' and added it to my Dashboard, added an Event View and it works just fine with my 2.5.1 VMware appliance. Maybe retrace your steps?

I acctually just figured it out, turns out the package was corrupted. I re-downloaded it, extracted and installed and it was fine. Sorry for the false alarm!
