How to monitor Fedora machine using SSH

Hi,

 

I am new to Zenoss and would like to know how to monitor a Fedora 8 Machine with SSH. I don't want to use SNMP because of some security concerns.

Any step by step instruction guide will help me a lot.Appreciate any help.
