I've searched and googled around, but just in case I am missing something obvious: Are there zenoss hooks for monitoring via ipmi? (power status, environmentals, etc). There is a lot of info that could be discovered this way without adding jitter to the OS that is running on the system at the time.
If not it might make a good zenpack. Now if I only had another few hours in the day....
Anyway, thought I would bring this up here because a lot of HPC tools hook in to IPMI.
Cheers,
-Corey
I haven't seen an IPMI ZenPack yet, but that would definitely make a good data source ZenPack. Perhaps based off of FreeIPMI or something similar? There are several examples of ZenPacks providing new data sources and/or daemons (Zen JMX Collector, Ganglia, WMI Data Source). If anyone's up for it, I'll help where I can.
Thanks,
Matt Ray
