How to model a device on trigger base

Hi,
For SNMP devices, zenoss model when the device is added, or on a schedule (say every 12 hours).
During modeling, Zenoss discovers the subcomponents available at that time.
As an example, say I have 4 components reporting data, it will store them as subcomponents of the RTCC device,
and schedule collection of the performance stats for these subcomponents.
If a 5th component is added, our applications will report stats, but Zenoss will not collect it
because it was unaware of that pool at the time it modeled.
One option would be to raise a SNMP trap when new subcomponents are detected/added.
This trap would be received by Zenoss and would trigger the modeling action.
Please let me know your thoughts on this.
If zenmodel can be triggered based on the sent SNMP trap then how it is possible.
Please provide some code snippets to achieve this.
Thanks,
Ranjith Kumar
You could use an Event Command to call zenmodeler to remodel the device in response to the trap. The Admin Guide covers how to use Event Commands.
Thanks Matt. Now able to trigger the zenmodeler based on snmp traps.
