Hi.

I have newbie question.

Iv'e created a monitoring template with datasource of type command. I want it to run a command on remote server via ssh and then create an event based on the output of the command.

The output of your command needs to be in "Nagios format". Can I suggest you get my paper on "Methods of monitoring processes with Zenoss" from docs/DOC-3537 . Section 5.2.1 gives you an example of a script that returns exit codes that can generate events and also returns data values that could be thresholded and also return events.
