I've just started testing NMS software, first was Nagios, now is Zenoss

have problem with configuring Zenoss - want to use Nagios plugin, which was tested and it's working (http://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Plugins/Databases/SQLServer/Check-MSSQL-Database-Stats/details; require pymssql)

according to this post docs/DOC-2514 I've configure new COMMAND

just after start it have warning in events - 'pymssql is required....'

script at beginning try to 'import pymssql' - if can't, send message like above

so I back to terminal and test this script as user - everything is ok, receive info from MSSQL Server

next do

su - zenoss

and try again check script, now received

pymssql is required...

what can I do to make 'zenoss' account 'see' pymssql library??

Is there a reason you don't want to use one of the Zenoss MSSQL Zenpacks?

want to check db size of instances of SQL in my environment (2000, 2005, 2008 32and64 bit)
use one of these Zenpacks have this feature?

easy_install pymssql as zenoss user.

still same, even after succesfull 'easy_install pymssql'

As the zenoss user on the zenmaster, try running the test by hand as documented on the plugins page. This will help narrow the issue down to either the plugin or zenoss.

testing plugin as 'root' - works fine
as 'zenoss' user - problem with pymssql

Zenoss can't run plugins as root. You'll have to test as the zenoss user. If you need to execute as root change the owner of the file to root, group zenoss then add the execute and suid bit.

still problem with this plugin
for alternative - have query which in result will give me db_size, how can I use it in Zenoss?
