Zenoss 4 empty Event Archive - incorrect MySQL settings?

I'm playing about with the Zenoss 4 beta at the moment. When I close events I assume they're meant to show up in the Event Archive. Unfortunately for me, the Event Archive always shows up empty.

I did have a few permissions problems when I set this box up yesterday (eg setting MySQL passwords before installing Zenoss), so it may be that something might not have been done correctly.

Can anyone tell me what the Event Archive is inside MySQL with regard to database/table names? And is there something I can run which will create what database/table should be in MySQL for Zenoss to work correctly.

Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

I got caught exactly the same way!

There is a change in decision with Core 4.  In your normal, active evnt console, you will find that the Status dropdown has more statuses now, including Closed & Cleared (also new are Dropped and Aged).  Closed means closed by a iser; Cleared means closed by another event (good news closes bad news type interaction).  If you or another event "closes" an event, it now stays in the Summary table until it is Aged out by setting on your event manager.  By default, the active Event Console only shows events of status New and Acknowledged.

So, my guess is that they are there in the active Event Summary, just not showing.  Like you, I also tried to dig around in the event archive but if you have recently installed your Zenoss then nothing will have got there yet and those data fields will indeed be empty.

Pull the draft Administrators Guide for Core 4 - same sit as where you got the beta code - chapter 7 talks about Events.

    Cheers,

    Jane
