How to develop ZenPack without access to test devices/snmpwalk output?

Say you're faced with the following situation:
you need to develop a ZenPack (ZP), but have no access to the devices the ZP has to support, not a full snmpwalk output of said devices.
Going through the devices manufacturer web site, you're pretty certain which MIBs the devices will use (based on devices' model/OS).
So, armed with only these MIBs, how would you simulate the devices, to facililitate ZP development?
Or, do you have another way to develop without access to neither devices nor their snmpwalk output?
Any ideas/insights are welcome.
Ron.
Hi Ron,
Did you check snmposter as described in the zenoss labs documentation? Perhaps this could be helpful: http://docs.zenosslabs.com/en/latest/zenpack_development/monitoring_snmp_device/snmp_tools.html

Hi Maarten,
Thanks for your suggestion.
Unfortunately, snmposter needs the snmpwalk output - as input, and as I mentioned in the OP, the snmpwalk output is not available.
Ron.
What I've done in this situation is to use a GUI MIB browser (I like the iReasoning one myself) to load the MIB and go through it looking for relevant or interesting MIBs.
Most Zenoss "components" you'll want to map to any SNMP tables within the MIB (w/the component and modeler code), while any top-level OID metrics you might want to stick on a Device template.
Since you're working blindly though, several problems can occur:
Anyway that's about the best I can recommend. Hope it helps.
Joseph
Is it out of the question to ask the Vendor (or maybe the community) for a snmpwalk that you could then leverage snmposter with?
While you might be able to stumble through using just the MIBs as Joseph has suggested, its going to be a pretty frustrating adventure...
Actually, that is a very good suggestion: I'll post a different thread asking snmpwalk outputs for my relevant devices.
Thanks,
Ron.
