Respected Participants,
I have installed Zenoss 4.2.3 and virtual box on the same machine. I have created a VM in the virtual box that consists of ubuntu 12.04 LTS. I want to monitor the created VM inside the virtual box using zenoss 4.2.3. I would like to have your guidance with regards to this act. Kindly reply.
Regards,
Ajay
Should be able to just specify the IP address of the VM. Are you bridging or NATing?
Hello Jared Ready Sir,
I am basically nating which is the default configuration in virtual box. Can you mention where should i exactly specify the IP address. Kindly reply asap.
Regards,
Ajay Pachpande
Ajay,
For help adding a device into Zenoss look here: http://wiki.zenoss.org/Add_a_Device
To get the IP from the VM, login to it and type: ifconfig
If you have issues connecting to the VM, try changing the network from NAT to Bridge.
I would also recommend that you install and configure SNMP on the VM (found this link from google: http://andrewpakpahan.blogspot.com/2012/09/how-to-enable-snmp-monitoring-on-ubuntu.html)
