Custom url monitoring

Hi there guys,
just getting started with Zenoss url monitoring.
If I choose to monitor a "normal url", it works fine.
But if I would like to monitor a "custom" url - e.g. http://crm.mydomain.com:8020, I can't get it to work.
I have set up a custom monitor template to monitor this port (8020) but it keeps on spitting out a http 400 error.
Anybody tried the same thing?
Thanks for any advice,
Chris
Solved this issue.
If somebody requires help regarding this, just post on this thread.

Hello Chris,
I'm trying to monitor specific URLs like this one:
http://community.zenoss.org/SOMETHING/somethingelse.html
All I'm interested is availability, but since this can't be translated into IP address and pinged I'm having difficulties finding a solution.
Putting this in ping or html class doesn't work.
The only way I managed to monitor this is by adding the entire URL as a 'Monitored URL in a device' (Click the divice, click the plus icon, select Add a Monitored URL) but when the URL was unavailable, Zenoss didn't rise any events or notifications of any kind. The only way to see that the url was unavailable was to look for gaps in the recieved data graph.
And now my question: Do you have any advice for me? I don't want to bother you with a step by step solution. I just need some ideas.
Thank you.
Hi Dimitar,
I would recommend that you start with the basics.
Just go to Infrastructure/Devices/HTTP and add a new device with the name of www.google.de without "http" or "/" in the name. Zenoss seems to dislike the "/" symbol.
See if this works and post the result. I will get back to you as soon as I get some time.
Chris
