Basic triggers for services not in Event Classes

Hello Everyone,

This is my first post so let me know if I do something wrong. I have just started working with Zenoss and I have managed to setup some basic triggers for Windows services using the "Event Class" rule.

ie "Event Class containes /Status/DNS" found "http://wiki.zenoss.org/Notify_Me_of_Important_Events"

When navigating "Windows Services" I see hundreds of windows services that can be monitored and I would like to set triggers for them so I am alerted as to when they go down or are restarted. When I navigate to Event Classes I only see a pre-set number of classes and the services I want to monitor show as "/Unknown" in the event log. I try to create my own event class but I managed to get nowhere in the process.

QUESTION 1: I am wondering what must I do to set triggers to Windows services that are not defined already in Event Classes. Is there a guide I can follow that might be of some help?

QUESTION 2: I am also struggling with the graphs that are taken by WMI on my servers. Currently it seems as though Zenoss only takes metrics from my servers every 2 hours or so and only for a limited time. I have also had graphs that have monitored servers for about a week yet only show the last days work of usage. Is there a setting that I need in order to get prolonged WMI data so I can tell what is happening to my servers over time. I have linked an image to help you understand what I am talking about.

QUESTION 3: I would also like to setup triggers for max/min memory usage or know when a hard drive is reaching capacity. When looking through the options for triggers I do not see anything regarding this option accept "Count" but I am unsure how to use it at the moment.

I have read all of the administration and monitoring guides that have come with this product and I simply have no idea how to move forward so any help on any of the 3 questions I have would be of tremendous help to me as I have already invested considerable time into setting up the product.

Cheers,

Antony
