Interface Status under os tab misleading

I'm having an issue since upgrading to 2.5 from 2.4.5.
All interfaces show (Green) up in under /os tab
No indication of OperStatus being down
However under each interface the information for
OperStatus and AdminStatus are correct.
Is this an issue with my upgrade , a bug, or just normal for 2.5?
Please advice as I have over 300 switches monitored currently and this is a must for me
to get resolved.
So I can roll out the upgraded box to Production.
See: http://dev.zenoss.org/trac/ticket/4997
I had originally opened: http://dev.zenoss.org/trac/ticket/5376, 4997 partially addresses this.
Also see:
http://dev.zenoss.org/trac/ticket/5627
http://dev.zenoss.org/trac/ticket/5628
Which address other issues with interface monitoring that I had pointed out.
Basically, the interface status icons on the OS tab work based on events that are currently in the active event console.
To have the status on the OS tab accurately reflect the status of the interfaces you would need to follow the steps here:
But the event class for the new interface status isn't /Net/Link, I forget what it is, once I find out which class it is I'll modify that document so that it works with the interface status setup for 2.5.
(Just for the record, interface status was never actually properly reflected in the older versions of Zenoss with up to date status. It only updated when the device was modeled. That is going to change in King Crab.)
Thanks,
This to me seems to be a fairly simple issue but it is terrible to try
and explain this to NOC tech who has no idea why the indicator is green
and the port is Operationally down, Admin Up.
At a minimum the status should be set (if else type checking based off
the collected status/s).
I'll continue to watch this, hoping for a complete solution.
Let me know if you remember or figure out the Event Class.
Please let me know.
Zenoss is a good product and I know that all software have bugs but, for a product that claim to be "Enterprise", in my opinion this is a BIG and unacceptable defect. I'm an enterprise customer and I'll open a ticket hoping that this will be fixed asap.
I have the same issue since upgrading from 2.4 to 2.5 :
All interfaces show (Green) up in under /os tab. No indication of OperStatus being down
However under each interface the information for OperStatus and AdminStatus are correct.
Since I have added the ifOperStatus combined with a threshold to the ethernetCsmad templates I get false events about interfaces going down that were never even up.
